What is Vibroacoustic Therapy / VAT?
(VAT) is a type of sound therapy that uses low-frequency sound waves to create vibrations that are transmitted through the body. Some VAT recording have music to enhance the effects and experience. The vibrations can have a number of beneficial effects, including reducing stress, anxiety, and pain; improving sleep; and boosting mood.
How Does it Work?
VibroAcoustic Therapy / VAT is based on the principle that life is vibration. Matter, including the human body, vibrates all the time, at various frequencies. Sound and music also vary in frequency. Therefore, when the various frequencies of sound and/or music are converted to vibration which is introduced to the human body, it can be utilized to bring the body into a state of healthy resonance.
Vibroacoustic Therapy uses low frequencies and therapeutic music delivered through special speakers called transducers. As a person’s body has contact with the embedded speakers, the music is sent from the source into the transducers and then is felt by the body as vibration and heard by the ears as sound. The vibro-tactile input stimulates nerve bundles along the spine, up into the brainstem and then through the limbic system. These reactions signal the body to relax and flood the brain with mood-lifting chemicals. In addition, the low frequencies also cause a relaxation of the tissues and a dilation of blood vessels and an opening of the lymphatic pathways which in turn increases the body’s ability to heal.
What does a VAT session look like?
You will lay comfortably on a massage table customized with VibroAcoustic equipment along with an amethyst Sparkle Bio-Mat. Special pillows and bolsters placed to contour the body offering comfort and uninterrupted transfer of the frequency and effects of the Bio-Mat.
Headphones are used in most sessions for binaural beats for brain entrainment embedded in with the frequency track made for VAT.
What should I expect?
Wear comfortable all cotton/natural clothing, no need to disrobe. When you arrive for your first appointment, there is an intake where we discuss what you have going on, intention setting, selecting the tracks for your custom session. Then, I will assist you on the table. Due to the effects of the Sparkle mat, it is strongly encouraged to have wear all cotton clothing. After the headphones are placed over the ears and the session starts, I will remain in the room for only a minute to assure you are comfortable. Or, you can chose to add energy work during your session in which case, I remain in the room. When your sessions ends, the music and table will stop. Don't underestimate the power of VibroAcoustic Therapy. This is very deep work and effects the body like a massage, deep tissue massage in some cases.

How much is a VAT Session?
Your first VAT session is complimentary - Right now, your first customized VAT session, 40-46 minutes depending on goals and intentions. This is offered to new and existing clients. This is VibroAcoustics only, no massage. However, this session must be scheduled, I do not offer any service on a walk in basis. It is encouraged to experience what VAT can do without hands on massage being involved. For this reason, your first VAT only session can not be on the same day as a scheduled massage
$20 15-22 minutes VAT - $40 with energy work - Allow yourself to relax, retune, rebalance with effects felt immediately.
$35 up to 46 minutes VAT - $65 with energy work - Great for addressing multiple goals
$50 up to 65 minutes VAT - $85 with energy work - For a powerful experience, multiple goals and intentions. Should not be done if you have a very busy / active day scheduled after your session

Can VAT and Massage be combined?
ABSOLUTELY. Now till the end of 2023, VibroAcoustic Therapy is part of every massage session using music composed for VAT during massage, at no additional charge. OR, truly customize your massage and VAT combination experience for $10. Spoil yourself and maximize your time on the table by adding VAT recordings selected specifically for your needs/goals/intentions. Don't underestimate the power of VibroAcoustic Therapy. This is very deep work and effects the body like a massage, deep tissue massage in some cases.
Who should NOT receive VAT?
Vibroacoustic therapy is inappropriate for individuals with
Pacemakers- because there are magnets in the transducers
Recent surgery and/or an open wound -Vibroacoustics speeds up circulation and blood flow which aids in healing, but if you have an open sore you want it to clot).
Acute inflammatory conditions
Hypotension
Deep Vein Thrombosis (or DVT)
Seizure disorders
Caution with pregnancy
Specific frequencies are chosen to impact the area of concern for each client. For chronic conditions, the best long-term therapeutic benefits are often found in multiple sessions (up to 10 in some cases).
